As far as expectations go, I am fairly confident that God will amaze me in ways that will surpass and demolish any expectations that I may hold. But In general these are my expectations…
I except God to be the never changing, solid foundation I can at anytime rely on in Peru. Regardless if I’m at the lowest point on my trip, I expect that he will be there when I stumble and need his guidance and help. Pretty plain expectation but with God being the way he is, it is pretty easy to realize what to except from him.
Peru
I except to see and do things that I could never have dreamed about in Peru. I except to see amazing wonders, miracles and the beauty of God’s creation in the Amazon Jungle. I expect to be quite uncomfortable with the heat, humidity, insects, sleeping arrangements and so forth, but I also expect to go to God with all those things and for him to give me strength and perseverance.
Myself
I expect to be stretched in all aspects of my life and my faith. I want to emerge a stronger person in mind, body and spirit when it is all said and done. Coming out of the trip a different man is definitely what I except to happen. I don’t know how exactly but to have a different outlook on life and more of an appreciation of the life that I have been given by the creator. I want to learn to put myself aside and for the better of other people.
The People of Peru
I except to come across all different types of people in Peru. From all walks of life in their faith but I expect to help them in whatever way I can. To love on the children and the people there and to learn as much as I can from them. To see their love for the Lord and what I can learn from it.
My Team
I expect to be able to rely on my teammates physically, emotionally and spiritually thoughtout the trip. I expect some of us to at some point not get along very but realize why we are in Peru and putting our differences aside for the furtherance of God’s Kingdom (which is far more important). I expect to be in constant prayer with the entire team, because in my eyes this I going to be essential for this trip. I expect for my team to hold me accountable in my actions and vice versa
