Well, first off my name is Ashley Thomas. I am 18 years old, and originally from North Carolina. Currently, I am attending college at Carson-Newman in Tennessee though. I come from a family of four brothers and sisters and two parents who love and support me continuously. While my oldest brother and sister are married, one getting married in May, and then my youngest brother seriously dating, we still manage to hold very strong relationships with one another. If there is one thing you should know about me, it is that I wouldn’t trade my family for anything in this world. They support and encourage me on days when I think I have no reason to keep on.
Shy at first, that quickly changes once I become comfortable with my new surroundings. Along with my addiction to coffee, I love the outdoors, snow, indie movies, acoustic music, and most of all my amazing God! The last two years of my life have been a roller coaster, but God had better plans for me all along. I am so excited to see where this journey takes me as I join my team on this trip to Peru, and then return to begin attending school at Moody Bible College in the fall semester.

I love meeting new people and emersing myself in unknown cultures. My favorite is the Spanish culture. Along with taking five years of spanish in highschool, I am now studying it in college. My belief is that we too often become comfortable in our own surroundings and aren’t open-minded about the traditions of others. Because of this, I have committed myself to learning about the cultures of others and being open-minded to the traditions of others.
Well, that is a little about me. I look forward to meeting everyone as we embark on this journey of self-discovery and sharing the love of Christ with those who have not heard.
