As some of you may be aware, there is a bit of unrest in Peru at the moment that is making the news headlines. Myself and other AIM staff have been reading up on the news and want to assure you that your students are safe and far from harms way.

According to news reports, most of the unrest is in the western part of Peru, in the surrounding areas/regions of the city Chachapoyas. Our Amazon Peru team is in the northeastern part of Peru near Iquitos. A large mountain range and jungle region separates where the unrest is from the area where the team is located. In general terms, this would be like something going on the west coast of the U.S. and our team being on the east coast.

The safety of our teams is a primary concern of ours. Please be assured that we remove any team from harms way as quickly as possible. We have the support and help of local people who are in tune with what is going on and who are a valuable resource and help to us.

I should be posting an update from the team later today.

Blessings,
Chad Mustain
